Fashion led the charge, with spending on clothing and accessories jumping 48 percent compared to last year. Telecommunications spending also saw a significant boost, rising 36 percent, while entertainment spending climbed 19 percent and extended its growth streak to nine consecutive months.
The data also highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing shift toward digital spending. E-commerce accounted for nearly a quarter of all consumer spending during the month, while point-of-sale transactions recorded their strongest annual growth in more than two years.
One thing is clear: whether it was shopping, streaming or scrolling, Saudi consumers were spending more and clicking “checkout” more often in April.
