Foreign companies looking to own property in Saudi Arabia now have a clearer roadmap to follow.
The Kingdom has introduced new requirements for non-resident foreign firms seeking to purchase real estate without establishing or operating a business locally. The rules form part of the newly released Investor Guide 2026 and are designed to simplify and clarify the process for international investors.

Under the updated framework, companies must provide official registration documents from their home country, submit authenticated incorporation papers translated into Arabic, and appoint an authorised representative to act on their behalf in Saudi Arabia.
The guide also outlines procedures for managing and selling assets, opening bank accounts and keeping company information updated with relevant authorities. Companies renewing their registration will be required to confirm that no changes have been made to their ownership structure or management.
According to the Ministry of Investment, the dedicated property ownership section is one of the most significant additions to the latest edition of the Investor Guide, offering a more detailed framework for foreign corporate real estate ownership than ever before.
In short, the Kingdom has put more of the process into writing, giving foreign investors a clearer picture of what it takes to own property in Saudi Arabia.
